Our latest series for Into the Deep is called “From Desolation to Consolation” where we explore the variety of ways desolation can appear in our lives. Our writers are each exploring one “face” of desolation from their life experience, and offering some insights on how we might work with the Holy Spirit to move out of desolation.

The answers cannot be found in the refrigerator. Trust me, I’ve looked, and they’re not there! The satisfying crunch of potato chips does not increase my productivity. Neither does the promised reward of a square of dark chocolate. I admit that sometimes it is much easier to take a bite of click bait on my favorite social media site rather than focus on the task at hand.
